Just this last August, the Lagoon Keepers of Palm Beach noticed a mysterious ripple in the water and quickly grabbed a video camera. The rest is history.
The phenomenon first noticed by the Lagoon Keepers has been fondly named “Muck Monster” for its tendency to dive into the muck whenever one tried to take a look at the mysterious creature. The video of the creature was first posted on YouTube. Since then, the “Muck Monster” has been featured on David Lettermen’s “Top Ten” and News Channel 5′s website has received 4 million hits about the muck monster since the story first broke.
The Muck Monster is believed to be harmless, enjoys the Florida sunshine and long swims in the intracoastal, and is in relatively good spirits. In fact, a growing number of Downtown businesses have decided to pay homage to the friendly watery creature.
Pistache at 101 N. Clematis St. is now offering a Muck Monster Martini that has enough caffeine to keep you up so you may get your chance at a glimpse of the Intracoastal monster! Pizza Girls at 114 Clematis St. is serving up Muck Monster Pizza and Grease Burger Bar at 213 Clematis St. is offering Muck balls Portabella Muckshrooms and spinach or a Muck Burger.
Keep an eye for additional “Muck Monster” promotions and the creature itself in Downtown!
