Friends of the Library 92nd St. Y Lecture with Howard Gardener

The Friends of the West Palm Beach Public Library in partnership with the DDA are proud to host another spectacular 92nd St. Y Live lecture. On Wednesday, October 14th at 7:45pm watch live as Harvard University professor Howard Gardener conducts a one-on-one interview with Jeffrey Sachs based on the simple inquiry: What can we learn from what you have achieved? Sachs will talk about his work in helping to understand and eradicate extreme poverty. Sachs is the director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University and is a special advisor to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. He was the director of the UN Millennium Project and advisor on the Millennium Development Goals Project, the internationally accepted goals to reduce extreme poverty, disease and hunger by 2015.

92nd Street Live lectures are broadcasted live from New York City and are viewed via satellite at locations around the country. This unique program allows members of the local audience to submit questions to the speakers in New York City in real time, making the experience interactive. Locally, the series was developed by Commissioner Jeri Muoio’s Distance Learning Committee.

The lecture will take place in the West Palm Beach Public Library auditorium at 411 Clematis St. The lecture is $5 for Friends of the Library members and $10 for nonmembers. For more information or to register, visit www.friendswpblibrary.org.
